Bud, Not Buddy took place in the 1960’s where a 10 year-old African-American boy named Bud-not-Buddy ran away from an orphanage and tries to find his father. His mother died when he was 4 years old. He found some posters of a musician named Herman E. Calloway in his mother’s belongings. He thought this musician could be his father. In the end, he found the musician and discovered a startling surprise. This book is beautifully written and is great for readers of all types!
